Artist Statement

A native of Austin, Texas. At home behind the lens.

Back in Crested Butte in 2018, I snapped a portrait of a friend waiting for his lunch. It struck a chord with my parents, my friend, and me. A few weeks later, I got my hands on a Nikon camera, and off I went, exploring and learning on the street, at shows, in conversation with professional photographers and artists, in photography camps, and in classes.

I started to find my way and my voice through photography and music. I explore the streets and city and try to capture what's overlooked. In the studio, I combine the real and sometimes the really weird, creating different takes on still life. From the mundane to the absurd, I'm most comfortable behind the camera and the computer, pushing boundaries and bringing wild ideas of sights and sounds to life.
